What was intended to be a quick trip to my local apothecary on Saturday afternoon turned into an all afternoon affair. My reason for stopping by was to get pictures for another post I’m working on for the blog. However I ended up spending most of the afternoon chatting with the owner and other customers and leaving with a bag full of goodies.
What I Picked Up For Me
Dry shampoo is something I’ve been on the hunt for lately. I have oily skin and hair so I need something that’s going to really combat it between washes. When I saw the Herbal Dry Shampoo from Herbal Moon Apothecary I was super excited. It’s a rosemary and mint scented powder. This one is also specific for dark hair as the color is a mix of dusty rose and rust. I can understand why anyone with light hair wouldn’t want to use it. I’ve tried it out twice so far to some good results. It helps my scalp and roots from being super oily. However it doesn’t do a whole lot for the rest of my hair.
The next item I got was a Brazilian Agate geode slice necklace by Naturally Aware. I’ve always been fascinated by and collected rocks. Whether it was geodes, river rocks, or crystals. I remember having a rock tumbler going for months in our garage when I was in elementary school. It used to drive my parents crazy but whenever we go to the mountains for a visit I insist on stopping at one of those gem mining places. Back on topic though, the company is local and I love supporting local! The necklace is a good length, I’d say about 18″ and is comfortable to wear. I love it!
The black and gold journal I picked up from Native Bear is perfect to journal tarot readings. The pages aren’t lined so if I want to draw anything in I can. This one particularly matches the Golden Thread Tarot nicely.
I also grabbed the Wild Unknown Tarot but I’m going to save my thoughts on it for another post!
What I Picked Up For My Home
The first item I picked up is the Protection Myst by Anima Mundi Apothecary. It’s a palo santo spray you can use in your home to help purify the air. I especially like to use it before bed or working with tarot cards. When I looked at the website I didn’t see the exact same item but they do have a Palo Santo Myst / Bad Vibe Killer.
Who doesn’t like to get a crystal or stone in their soap when they’re through? I thought this was the neatest idea! Wild Medicine offers a variety of different combinations of scents and stones. I picked up the Titanium Quartz / Tea Tree soap mainly because I love tea tree. It’s small in size which is perfect. I don’t want to wait months to get to the stone. Plus it means I can pick out another one soon. The scent is great and the soap feels awesome when I used it to wash my hands.
As you can guess, I love Palo Santo. The whole reason I headed to the apothecary was to get a new box of incense. I particularly like Incausa because of the hand pressed incense that they make. It’s quick lighting and unlike the regular palo santo sticks, it stays lit until it burns out.
That’s everything! Thanks for watching and checking out the post.
