Every month I receive an Ipsy glam bag. It’s kind of like Christmas every month for me. I’m not very talented with make up, but I try to be. Ipsy let’s me experiment with products I wouldn’t usually buy for myself. Let’s face it y’all, make up isn’t cheap and spending a ton of money to play just isn’t in my budget.
I personally purchased Ipsy for a full year at once. You can get Ipsy for $10/month or save $10 and get it for$110/year. For me, it was easier to use my birthday money and get the full year so that I don’t have to worry about a monthly fee coming out of my account.
Each month I receive 4-5 full size or delux beauty samples or tools (i.e. Brushes, sponges,etc.). These items are tailored to my personal preferences which I entered on the ipsyMatch tool when I first signed up. In addition, each month you can go onto Ipsy and review the items they send you to further customize each bag.
Cost: $10.00/month (USD)
Shipping: US – Free, Canada – $4.95
Every month the theme for ipsy is different. This month’s was Tres Jolie.
So what came in my April bag you ask? Well…
Cake deserted island supreme body mousse
This is my first Cake product that I’ve used. As a moisturizer enthusiast (my skin always seems dry), I love this product. It’s very lightweight while still hydrating. I used it right after getting out the shower. Between the steam from the shower and the body mousse I don’t think my skin has ever felt softer. I also like that you can use this all over, including your face.
Mint Pear collagen serum
So this is one of those products that I’d probably never buy for my self just based on price alone. Yea I’m cheap you can say it. I’m really glad this came in my bag though. I actually love this product. It’s kind of like rubbing water into your skin, but a little goes a long way. Your skin is so soft and supple after using this. While I can’t quite attest to the long term affects yet the initial test is amazing!
So Susan Blush &Glow luminizing blush
The color of this blush was not outstanding but just enough to add a Rosie glow to my light complexion. In order for me to get that Rosie glow I had to LOAD up my blush brush but once I got it on my face it was worth it. On Ipsy they say this particular product adjust to each persons skin tone to work well for everyone. I’m not sure if that is true but you may want to test to for your self.
Beau Gachis tapered blending brush
I received a blending brush in February so I was surprised to receive another one in March. This one I actually prefer to the last one I received. The previous brush was just slightly too soft. This was is a little stiffer, which made it easier for me to utilize. It did a really nice job blending the two shades and was very easy to clean.
Tarte cosmetics quick dry lip paint in rose
This was actually my least favorite product I received. I have received other tarte products that I truly enjoyed. This particular lip paint washed me out and literally did nothing for me cosmetic wise. The feel of the lip paint is good going on. Not tacky, not super dry. I just wasn’t impressed to be honest.
So there you have it! The good bad, and the bad! Check out Ipsy, find the products you love, and enjoy!
