There’s something to be said for a subscription box that has stood the test of time. I’ve had ipsy for about a year now and I still find myself anxiously waiting by the mailbox for my newest bag to arrive in the mail. Now, I’m notorious for spoiling the surprise, but that hardly hinders my excitement when I see that bright pink bubble wrap bag in the mail.
For those of you living under a rock (Hey, I like rocks! No discrimination here) ipsy is a beauty subscription service that curates a bad ass bag containing 4-5 full size or deluxe samples. What makes this service a little more special? Well, they personalize the products you receive based on your preferences. Things like skin type beauty habits etc, are taken into account using a nifty tool called ipsyMatch.
Say you find you hate getting mascara in your bag, or perhaps you love all of nail goodies you’ve received so far; simply go in and review your products. By amazing ipsy magic, they will continue to tailor your bag to your specific needs and bring what you really want right to your door.

Jelly Pong Pong coffee+Coconut Lip Scrub
$19
I’ve received one other product from this brand before and fell in love with how well it matched my complexion. With ingredients like golden sugar, rose hip oil and jojoba, your lips end up soft and silky once you’ve gently scrubbed away dry skin. This lip scrub smells and tastes amazing as well. I’m a huge coffee lover, but can hardly stand coffee flavoring in my beauty products. This formula, however, keeps the scent light and the taste delicious. Use it daily, especially for prep when your look calls for vibrant matte lip.
Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02
$14.99
Pigments are a new realm for me. When I first pulled this product out of my bag, I was curious, but when I found out just how many uses it potentially had, I fell in love. Naked is known for how natural their products are. This pigment is the 100% oxidized loose mica, with subtle pink and gold undertones. Use it on your lids, or cheeks for perfect illumination, or even mix with with clear polish for a perfectly prim manicure.
Ciate Gelology topcoat
$17.00
I LOVE getting nail polish in my ipsy bag and this gel top coat was no exception. This isn’t your ordinary clear coat. Ciate’s long lasting formula gives your nails that salon perfect look without having to soak once you’re ready to switch up shades. The wide brush allows for flawless application, and although it didn’t last as long as Essie gel top coat, I was pleased with the shine it gives to my manicure.
Pacifica Blushious in Wildrose
$9.50
I’m a self-acclaimed blush-a-holic, and the all natural brand of Pacifica did not disappoint when it comes to this shade from their Blushious collection. Although the color seems dusty in the pallet, this blush is soft, and builds beautifully on your skin. It’s opalescent sheen allows you to go with or without highlight and lasts for hours.
The Balm Cosmetics: Bahama Mama
$20
The Balm is easily in the top 5 when it comes to my favorite brands. Their marketing alone makes me swoon, not to mention their highly pigmented eye shadows. So you’ll understand my despair when I realized that my cats had mysteriously misplaced this sample from my ipsy bag. Good news: I was able to try it before the cat hoard (by hoard I mean three) decided to sacrifice it to their gods. This bronzer/shadow/contour powder is the perfect sun kissed tone that is the exact opposite of orange, and since it’s matte, you’re able to use it for a myriad of things (even brows!). I have a feeling the full size version of this product will be making it’s way to my collection very soon.
And there you have it. Overall, January’s ipsy bag was phenomenal and I can tell that my reviews have been helping tailor the products I receive over time. Plus, full size products are always a nice bonus!
Have you tried ipsy? What did you think about this month’s glam bag?
