It’s that time again! Good ol’ Saint Paddy’s day. The day in which over half the world drinks more than their livers can handle, then, end up peeing in their friend’s closet at 3 am thinking it’s the loo. (I speak from experience). The green clovers are a sure sign that spring is just around the corner. And the food, well if you haven’t had shepherd’s pie then you haven’t truly lived. The feast of Saint Patrick is a joyous, boisterous holiday. It is one filled with booze and friends and celebration. One overflowing with memories and liberation. It’s not for the faint of heart, but for those with iron fists and guts of steel.
This year we bring you Irish Pub Rock Volume 2! Just as volume one did, this playlist kicks your ass and may potentially make you pass out. It’s loud, proud and delightfully obnoxious. Songs like Danny Boy by Johnny Cash will take you back to those rolling hills of green; while Whiskey in the Jar by the Dubliners will have you stomping your feet and thinking your name is Jameson in no time.
‘Tis a day for jolly chants and jigs, it won’t be hard to win you over,
The luck of the Irish has helped many of folk to find their four leaf clover.
Those mischievous souls with their wee pots of gold will have you feelin’ frisky;
‘though if you see this fellow, and feel quite mellow, it may be due to too much whiskey.
Beware of green goons with puffy chests that make bets who can chug ’em quicker,
For Saint Paddy’s ain’t for the faint of heart but for those who can hold their liquor!
