Welcome to the Ipsy Glam Bag review for June! It’s Summer, it’s hot as shit outside, and half of the time the last thing I want is to beat my face and fix my frizzy hair. Instead, I’d much rather toss my hair up and wear as little clothing as possible inside where there’s air conditioning. As I say all of this, I’m currently trying to figure out the easiest 10 minute make up routine for this concert I’m attending tonight and I couldn’t be happier that my Ipsy glam bag just came in the mail. I need something fresh for the summer and it seems like my bag might have just the goodies I’m looking for!
The Bag:
Super cute and graphic with its massive lips and zip top, it’ll be the perfect touch up bag to keep in my purse for the next month or so.

NYX Professional Makeup: Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle in Pink Cloud
Easily my favorite thing in my bag. The light bubblegum pink shade works perfect for my skin tone and will only look better the more bronze I get (I hate the sun but I love rafting!) This is a keep in your purse at all times, life saving kind of item. Toss it on the apples of your cheeks and a touch on your lips for the perfect monochromatic matte mini makeover. The whipped formula keeps the product lightweight and long lasting. You’ll hardly even know it’s there.

BioRepublic SkinCare: Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask & Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask
These little babies are about as close to nirvana as you can get. The Green Tea Detox mask is infused with a ton of revitalizing ingredients (like natural green tea extract and Vitamin E) that leave your skin looking and feeling super duper clean and fresh. The Aloe Rescue mask, which is filled Aloe Vera juice, will immediately hydrate and calm down sun-stressed skin. (Again, I love rafting!) Best part of these sheet masks? They’re biodegradable. Good for your skin and the environment!

The Balm Cosmetics: Balm Springs Blush
-
The Balm has always had a way with branding. It’s pin up style gives me grabby hands every time I see it, and this blush was no exception. Pro: The blush is super long lasting, just as the package says, which is needed in this balmy summer heat. Con: It’s the same dusty peach shade I’ve received in my bag the last several times Ipsy has sent one to me. I understand the need to find colors that match all skin tones, but I’m sure this dusty shade isn’t the only color that’s possible with. The Balm could also use some repackaging when it comes to their samples. It’s near impossible to get more than just a finger swatch.

City Color Cosmetics: Shimmer Shadow in Cheers to Life
I received the cheers to life, and was at first kind of sad that I didn’t receive the other shade. But who am I kidding anyway? I rarely ever use anything other than a neutral on my eyelids. (Color me boring.) But this… this is super metallic, super blendable and looks amazing on. It’s one of my favorite shadows received so far from Ipsy. City Color isn’t some ritzy over priced brand either. Which just goes to show that you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for high pigment, high shine, amazingly blendable products.

Trust Fund Beauty: Nail Polish in Game Changer or What’s a Budget
I can’t explain enough how excited I get when a full bottle of nail color shows up in my Ipsy bag. I was crossing my fingers for the bright pastel blue of What’s the Budget and was pleasantly surprised with the Ipsy oracles delivered! In addition, Trust Fund Beauty may be my favorite brand to receive through this subscription as well. Not once have I been disappointed with a products of theirs and this gorgeous sea foam varnish was no exception. It’s perfect for summer and isn’t stale like some of the other colors I’ve been seeing on the market. Super fresh and super fun.
And there you have it! June’s Volume Up glam bag from Etsy was a great way to end my journey with this subscription. Yes, you heard that correctly. In order for us to bring you some more exciting content, I’m giving up the glam bag. What kind of subscription boxes are you involved with? Any you would like to see from the blog or something you just can’t wait to get your hands on? Let us know in the comments and let me know if you ever want us to bring Ipsy back to NYCC!
