I feel like it is imperative to let everyone know just how scorching it is outside. I feel as if we may all be suffering summer’s wrath, but the need to bitch and whine about it has never been lost on me. Good news: It’s almost the 4th of July! Although most of us aren’t feeling particularly patriotic this year, it’s still a good time to unwind, crack open a cold one and turn up the tunes. Even better news: We’ve got the tunes for you! But that’s not all. We love to be specific here at NYCC. This playlist comes with a bit of a twist. Let’s rewind back to 1997, shall we?
Cherry Cola is a rewind to brighter days. Days when bands like the Spice Girls and Natalie Imbruglia ruled the airwaves. We were younger then, full of hope and what the future holds. Although I surely would rather drown my sorrows in our current climate, it’s nice to look back and enjoy the nostalgia of these simpler times. Be sure to check out favorites like “Semi-Charmed Life” by Third Eye Blind and, of course, ” I Want You” by Savage Garden.
Wishing you could relive the simpler, sweeter times this July 4th holiday? You’re not alone! Come hang with us, give Cherry Cola a listen and we’ll give you all the hits you didn’t remember you loved circa 1997. No ’96 or ’98 here. Just the best of the best when it comes to the best year of the ’90s.
