Oppression. Hatred. Some choose to rise up in the face of such adversity with understanding and an eagerness to change minds for the better, but not this girl. She’s filled with venom and vinegar. She wants nothing more than to satisfy the bitter taste of revenge. That taste has her willing to crawl to the edges of the earth in order to extinguish her enemies. No matter the cost, even if that means making a deal with the devil himself.
Heavy with the Devil is chock full of bitterness and the desperate need to seek redemption. It’s sinister and tempting without being too dramatic or dark. (Although the premise would have you thinking otherwise.) Most of all, it’s wonderfully exciting to listen to. Songs like Isobel Campbell’s Don’t make it Easy slow this playlist down enough to let the deep dark set in when you least expect it. Other songs like The Devil Inside by London Grammar will make your skin crawl with epic anticipation. The music that makes up this playlist is bad ass, ugly, slightly poppy, and fantastically feminist. There’s no doubt this woman has sold her soul, but for good reason. She has heads to collect, and plans to do it with the slyest of smiles.
For the one’s not frightened by fire. The one’s willing to fight tooth and nail for what they deserve, for their right, for their revenge. For the bitter bitches that have lost all sense of rationality, but instead have chosen to dedicate their very souls to these terrible, tortuous deeds. For the one’s who have no room left for a soul, as they are too heavy with the devil.
