Deep in the woods, we stalk our prey, our paws and jaws sticky with blood and mud. The moon speaks to us from overhead. Her light guiding us to to one another, her voice calling for us to be killers. We hunt not just out of need, but because our instincts tell us we must. It is written into our DNA, a marker us wolves may not have been born with, however, this is our cross to bear. Most fear us, and sometimes, we fear ourselves; but freedom like this is never squandered and isn’t lost on us. It is why the feast is so rewarding. It is our secret in which we never need share once the moon disappears. Human by day, wolf by night. This is our hunting ground.
Hunting Ground is the 3rd installment of our October playlist theme: Monsters. We wanted to take a deep dive into your typical werewolf with an adrenaline and rage fueled playlist. Werewolves are creatures of primal carnage, and we wanted to convey that with this soundtrack. Songs like ‘Predator’ by Gadi Sassoon evoke that particularly carnal emotion to hunt and stalk your victims, while AURORA’s ‘Running with the Wolves plays to that pack mentality, and the freedom of just being. This playlist is the perfect mix of fear and pleasure. A feast for the senses if you will.
For the one’s forced to change by the will of the moon. The ones who howl for pain, and for pleasure, hunting with brothers and sisters with the same secrets, with the same lost inhibitions. Those with a thirst for blood, and flesh and bone, only to awake with their senses dulled when the day eventually breaks. For the Wolf.
