The 1920’s were a sexy, sensual , even dangerous era. Folks had just come back from the World War and longed for normalcy. However, what they were able to accomplish was far superior. It was a time for fedoras and flappers with great gams. Not to mention mafioso’s with a flagrant disregard for the feds. Boot leggin’ and rum runnin’ we’re the pastimes of choice for Al Capone and Luciano alike. Babe hit is first of many home runs, while others preferred the solace of a seedy opium den. The 20’s were liquored up. They were a time of excess. To put it quite frank, they were the bees knees.
The Roaring 20’s were much more than just the stories Fitzgerald told. They were extravagant and decadent. They were everything you ever wanted to consume. Prohibition Vol. 1 our take of what that time would be like if we were to be living in it right now. These songs lend a tone and tip their hats to a time when things were made for consumption. ‘I Got’ by Beats Antique hardly needs words to express it’s indulgences, while ‘Dramophone (Swing Flappers Edit) by Caravan Palace was made for mash making and dirty deals across the border.
For the modern, carefree and reckless. The one’s with the short black bobs and the blood red lips. For the men who hide their wicked grins underneath posh hats and behind shiny steering wheels. Those of you with your hushed secrets of sexual desire; your hands filthy with the deals of dirty trade. For the bosses and babes. For those just wanting to wash away the memories of a great, gruesome war.
