Sabbat Box – Beltane 2018

By Mary Morelli @mary_mo · On April 25, 2018

Sabbat Box is a great subscription box that comes out around the Sabbats. There are eight a year and each one is filled with amazing items specifically for each Sabbat. The theme for this year’s Beltane 2018 box is Celtic Tree Magick. As soon as the theme for this box was released I knew it was going to be amazing. After opening this box I was blown away. None of the boxes I’ve received so far have been disappointing but this one was just extra special.

Interesed in getting your own Sabbat Box? Visit their website and sign up for the waiting list! Many of the products included in each box can be purchased from their store so you can put together your own package of magickal workings.

What’s Inside?

Parchment and book

Magickal Trees In Celtic Lore Parchment

The parchments included in every box are always full of great information. This one is no exception! It’s packed with trees sacred to the Celts along with an illustration of the leaves. I know I’ve said it before but I love these parchments!

Hand Crafted Celtic Tree Magick Stick Incense

I could smell these as soon as I opened the box. The incense sticks were made specifically for Sabbat Box by Charme et Sortilege. They combine three different essential oils with a fir base so it subtly changes as you burn. It makes for a perfect incense to burn while using the next item!

Ogham set
Hand Crafted Wood Burned Ogham Set

This Ogham set blew me away! I was not expecting to get something like this in a subscription box! The set is made by Dragon Oak and it is made from naturally fallen wood and comes with a green silk bag. I have never worked with the Ogham before so I’m ready to study them. This set also has a pleasant natural fragrance to it that I could also smell when I opened the box. It has a guide with the meanings and instructions on how to use them.

Celtic Tree Magic Ogham Lore & Druid Mysteries

I think this is the largest book I’ve received from Sabbat Box so far. It is written by Danu Forest and provided by Llewellyn Publishing. Since I’ve never studied the Ogham before I’m excited to have this as a reference. Not only does this book cover the divination but also crafts, spells, and potions all related to the twenty five trees from ogham tradition.

Tree Agate

Tree Agate Crystal Kit

If you follow us on Instagram you may have noticed that I’ve been on a crystal binge lately. Tree Agate was not something that I had already in my own crystal kit and so I’m really happy to be able to add this to it. Life has been a little hectic lately and this grounding stone is exactly what I needed! As always it comes in an organza bag with an info card.

Ground & Center Earth Energy Magick Ritual Anointing Oil

This oil by Moon Goddess Magick Apothecary is wonderful. As soon as I opened it I had to use it (again, I need some help with grounding right now). This oil can be used before working any rituals or when you need help with grounding and centering. It has a blend of essential oils and herbs, including a large number of trees. It’s also quartz crystal charged to help connect you to the earth. For the time being I’ll be carrying this along with the tree agate in my bag.

Incense & Oil

Bits of Strength Celtic Pocket Stones

At first I wasn’t sure what this little stone was. It is by Deva Designs and was included in the bag with the tree agate. On one side it looks like a celtic inspired acorn design. On the other side it has an affirmation. There are ten different ones and mine says “Stand Strong.” It’s adorable and something else I can carry with me.

About

What is Counter Culture? Well, Webster’s refers to it as: “a way of life and set of attitudes opposed to or at variance with the prevailing social norm.” They’re right of course, and over here at Not your Counter Culture, we want to elaborate on that variance. From food, music and lifestyle commentaries, to social issues and culture in every sense of the word. This blog is a collaborative collection of what’s new, what’s trending, and what truly makes folks like us a little more out of the ordinary.
